That search bar in the menu was mean't for site wide search, one search to rule them all :)
I just haven't had time yet to implement it yet, therefore i did quick implementation for simple redirect.
And since it is not simple search and it has different place, it must look different.
What i have in my mind is to add example of implementing this app: https://github.com/yourlabs/django-autocomplete-light:
