At the top of your output, there should be a line starting with Using resolver:
, what does it say?
I just published version 0.1.0
which unfortunately had to break compatibility with stackage lts-8.13
and lower. I would guess you are on a lower stackage LTS.
Fix: I would recommend updating your global stackage resolver to the latest (lts-8.20 at the moment) by editing ~/.stack/global-project/stack.yaml
Now there are a couple things I could do to make this more obvious:
- My bounds constraint on hindent is wrong, it should require version 5.2.3 or newer which would have given you a nicer error message here.
- I could get hfmt into stackage, that would eliminate these version mismatches. I'd be willing to do that if the tool became a bit more popular 😄

That was it, thanks! 😄
The funny part was that I was about to update that this morning. I was all the way back on 7.19
.

Great to hear, and thanks for bringing to my attention the bad version constraint.
