As it turns out, the safest way to avoid this issue is to disable compact_short_flags
in the settings or environment when it is expected that flag args (--flag ARG
) might look like a collection of short flags (-abc => -a -b -c)
.
The original thought of updating normalize_input()
to accommodate this scenario was proven wrong, since the function does not have any knowledge about what is considered valid, which CLI argument belongs to which flag or which flag belongs to which command.
