what output is when you execute just ping google.com in your console?
on the other hand ping does not work with ports. just hosts

doesn't return any packets :/
Is there an npm package that can be used to ping any URI, whether it's using a port or not?

if it's not returning anything, it seems like a problem with your network. maybe you have icmp blocked?..
no idea about other packages, sorry..

Actually, yeah I found the issue. My network is behind a number of firewalls. I can't even ping localhost with my current settings. Thank you!
