This would be a good feature indeed, and much used by the community. You would need to add one line of code in the directive to create a scope attribute for loop. Then in the ngAudioObject, you need to add a watcher for that directive and update the sound.
If you are getting started on this, please update this issue and also push your progress in its branch regularly to this repo so I don't assign this to someone else or do it myself.

I started the implementation but it's not finished yet. I want to provide a way to enable looping in general but also provide a way to loop it a certain amount of times (my own use case). I have an initial implementation to loop it endlessly but not for the certain amount of times. I'll be unable to continue the development before friday, so I'll submit a PR next weekend.
