Ok, specifying the config on the commandline seems to work in both cases. Environment vars - not so much in the case of Linux

Thanks. I'll build a new image and give it a go today/tomorrow :)
In the Linux case though, I got the error despite setting all the environment variables. Indeed the fix there was to cfcli -e $CF_API_EMAIL -k $CF_API_KEY -d $CF_API_DOMAIN -a -t A add $subdomain $ip, i.e. use the environment vars as arguments, which worked. Suggesting it's not picking them up ?

I'm using the environment variables in my CI builds (https://circleci.com/gh/danielpigott/cloudflare-cli) which is an Ubuntu container and that is picking them up, so I think there must only be certain circumstances where it isn't working
