To clarify, the equivalent to *fields.map is fields.map.splat.
But as mentioned in #14283 (comment) the entire expansion can be shortened to {{ fields.splat }}.

Yea, you can literally just do puts {{ fields.splat }} and call it a day :P

The splat goes after the map, not the other way round, because the . method call "operator" has higher precedence than the splat operator

Thank you kindly everyone! In my real code, I have something non-trivial inside the map method itself, so it can't be reduced. Good to know the splat method goes at the end of the method call instead, the precedence order was what confused me :)
