I am experiencing a similar problem.
First time user. Recently upgraded to VS2022.
My OpenAI API key is valid.
As soon as I hit send in the extensions window, the IDE freezes, then force closes without an error message. I ran it with the log command, maybe you can make sense of it.

I am getting the crash without, as well as with active internet connectivity.
