Following condition:

    421     if (strcmp(buf, "127.0.0.1") == 0) // lame
    422        continue;
    423      }

Could be changed to:

   394        // Skip loopback interfaces (like lo:127.0.0.1)
   395        if (ifa->ifa_flags & IFF_LOOPBACK) {
   396           continue;
   397        }
