Currently the only forum available for online group discussion among
CoderDojo community members is the CoderDojo Organisers Google Group.
This involves community members having to create a profile and be
verified to access the forum. We would like CoderDojo Community
Platform users to have automatic access to a forum.

The forum is effectively a separate website (much like kata), so the challenge is to skin it so it looks like the main community platform as possible.

Also in terms of login, a user will log in to the forums which will use oauth to authenticate against the main platform (again much like logging in to kata).

Also need to figure out permissions and how permissions granted in CP migrate over to NodeBB, this will be a big consideration when doing permissions in phase 2.

Won't we get increase rankings if we have the forum at coderdojo.com/forum instead of forum.coderdojo.com?

What was the reason for putting the forum on the subdomain instead?

@tangentfairy that's what's in the requirements! ;-) Doesn't matter to us, either works, just highlighting the fact that it's a separate standalone component.

If the only reason is because it says so in the requirements that's not a good enough reason for me! Another question to put on the list to ask the team this week then :)
