I had a look at the style guide provided with the web starter kit and I discovered that they have something very similar to our cards already implemented (Run the app and go to styleguide/index.html##featured-list).
We probably should use these components as far as possible and just modify them for our needs (the styleguide automatically evolves with our changes).
The corresponding .scss files can be found in styles/components.
