While this is an excellent point the issue we have is making new builds too slowly (which is getting worked on).
I think this "fix" would bypass traffic from where we can actually collect feedback from on github. Currently you have to get to the bottom of the readme to find the builds on appveyor.
Perhaps add a link to the readme that points to the development builds location? It would be best to add a contributing section just above "notes / docs" that covers dev builds and getting involved.
Look for progress and PRs related to cmderdev/cmder#1679 about consolidating contributor information.
