This seems to be due to the include path ordering in the g++ link line, with the addition of CXXFLAGS (from CXXFLAGS="-I/usr/local/include" LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/lib" ./configure --with-zeromq). This occurred with homebrew but might be an issue with macports too, on OSX.

Yes, I executed "bin/cloudi stop", the console waited for a long time (at least 5 minutes), and the process of erl did not quit. Also, the log in cloudi.log countined (many logs are about cloudi test).

The configuration now searches installation paths used by both macports and homebrew (/opt/local/ and /usr/local/)
