Whoa, yeah, it looks like the recipe was written against 2.7.1. It looks like the API has changed a little (example-config).
Any chance you'd be interested in helping to re-write the recipe?

Sure, I could try! To be honest, I was planning to simply go into a sulk about bad documentation, but maybe I can contribute to improving the world's doc supply instead. :-) Might take me a bit to get to though.

Hi - I've been meaning to do this very task, and have a working demo
available at: https://github.com/cloojure/demo/tree/master/timbre
I probably can't get to it for a while, so if you'd like to use this as a
template it might make things easier.

Also, just making note of this here until I get the writeup done---I've finally tracked down the API change. It looks like in 4.0 set-config!
stopped taking key-value vectors and started just taking a config map. I'm going to write for the latest version, but FYI @cloojure for your demo too.
