I have used the source code as it is. I'm developing for Android 2.3.3
When I try to run the code what I get is : "java.lang.IllegalStateException:
CookieSyncManager::createInstance() needs to be called before
CookieSyncManager::getInstance()
"
This is the error I get at each and every occurrence of
"CookieSyncManager::getInstance()".
I'm stuck to this point from so many hours.
Please suggest something.

min.
Perhaps you could set this .apk as featured?
BTW, thanks so much for creating this. It is an awesome reference for people

Sort by author is particularly important.
Also text-list view makes better sense for v. large collections (I've

contact me to get help on developing the app.)

Upon a closer examination of Shelves, I realized that Shelves is kinda the
inverse of what I had in mind for a BookMooch client.
BookMooch has multiple lists of books that may be relevant for somebody:
-- the books in their wishlist, that they are hoping to be able to get from
others
-- the books in their moochable inventory, that they are offering to others
-- the books in the pending transaction roster (books sent out or en route
to the user)
While these lists could use the Shelves UI, they aren't locally-stored
lists of titles. Instead, these lists need to be pulled from the BookMooch
API and probably cached.
It could be that Shelves is extended to support both your personal library
and rosters held in third-party services. Or, it could be that Shelves is
split into two projects, one for the UI presentation (book icons on virtual
shelves, with nice scrolling/flinging) as a reusable widget and one that
merges that widget with the existing list+search code. In that case, a
BookMooch app might reuse the ShelfView but otherwise go its own way on the
back-end logic.
Thoughts?
BTW, is there a better place for these sorts of things than issues, such as
a Google Group you'd like to use?

It'd be great if there was a way to create multiple separate sub-libraries
within a single install of Shelves. For example, allowing separation of
fiction and non-fiction collections.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Ideally, you'd be able to switch collection via the settings menu, or
better still, open the app to a list of collections. Select a collection
to view books within it.
Search should be able to search in all collections or just the current
collection.
It should be possible to move a book to a different collection. It might
be useful to be able to mark a book as belonging to multiple collections.

The ability to have my library on me, espesically when buying second hand
books, is fantastic.
It would be extremely handy if I could set books as "leant out" and be
able to set a contact as the person i've lent the book to.
-Thinking about it, a "borrowed" section with places/return dates could be
quite handy too :)
Sorry to become one of those newbs dumping feature requests all over the
place, but this is the *one* feature I'm desperatly searching for, and
hope it might get concidered for inclusion in the future.
Thanks :)

My personal library contains both german and english books. Having the locale
set to German (as default), I can't "scan and add" english books. Any attempt
results in a misleading message, saying that the book can't be added because it
might already be in the collection.
Just by chance I changed the locale setting within Shelves to "US" and to my
surprise, it recognized all my english books.
Practically spoken, it's rather complicated to change Shelves settings
according to the language of the book you want to scan.
I suggest removing this limitation. Shelves could try to find a book in many
languages, ISBN numbers should be unique, it might even try to guess the
language based on ISBN an choose the best lookup service.

Scan to add books sometimes creates duplicate entries in the collection. The
bar code is scanned once but two pictures of the corresponding book are added
to the shelf. Deleting one will delete both.
A workaround might be to press the 'back' key as soon as the book is reported
as found.
Locale was set to German.
