This happen to me as well. I notice that notification are turn off in the setting and I'm unable to turn them on on android 13

Same issue here. The F-Droid version (1.5.0) works just fine, but the latest GitHub's and Play Store's don't allow me to turn notifications on. When trying to turn on notifications, the options is grayed out and it says: "At your request, Android is blocking this category of notifications from appearing on this device".
