Why is it being flagged as malware?
False positives. This is a build from GitHub, made on Microsoft's own virtual machines. See the logs here: https://github.com/chocolate-doom/chocolate-doom/actions/runs/7240680697/job/19723937675
The difference is that it has a newer version of SDL, which might fix your problem.

Windows Defender popped up a "need to send this file for analysis" message as well.
I see some older builds of crispy and chocolate were triggering false positives, what's happening in the newer one?
