I've not tried building this on a Mac neither in XS. I do my work in VS2013 with Mac build host, where it works just fine. I built it several times today without problems.
If you need nuget support for XS, allegedly this plugin works great: https://github.com/mrward/monodevelop-nuget-addin

Tried in VS2012 Prof and I still have problems that the project references Nuget packages that are missing. Even after a package Restore I have the same problem.
This is for the Core project.

OK, I tried this in my Mac OS X VM. And you are right it seems like they are not restored properly. Just re-add the packages yourself and you should be fine.
