MediaSession / Media Control - If paused when laptop put to sleep, music starts playing about lms-material

Just tried under GNOME, and do not see this behaviour. But it does do the opposite - i.e. if playing music is paused when suspended.

Looking at the code, there is no "toggle" The nearest would be the handling of the "play" command - if "playing" then music is "paused", otherwise music is "played". But "playing" when "play" is sent makes sense - so cannot change that.

Sorry, but this looks like a KDE issue.

As an alternative to using MediaSession, you could use melodeon this is a simple Qt5/Qt6 QWebEngine wrapper - that has auto-discovery, and MPRIS support. This might be a better fit.

Closing, as there is nothing Material can do. The media-session support is very much a hack as it needs to play a silent ogg file in a loop, wasting CPU. But as stated the only "toggle" behaviour is on the "play" command. If KDE is sending "play" to "pause" then its obviously wrong - but as stated, Material will "pause" if "play" is sent whilst playing.
