Please try adding ?noblur to the material URL. E.g. http://server:9000/material/?noblur

TheOriginalOrthonormal avatar TheOriginalOrthonormal commented on July 25, 2024

Result:
The dim enlarged background image is now not blurred. This background image is still turned on or off with the "Draw Background" toggle. When "Draw Background" is off, the screen shows the song text info on a black / dark grey background.

Sorry, are you saying this resolved the issue or not?

CDrummond avatar CDrummond commented on July 25, 2024

By full screen do you mean the more playing view?

from lms-material.

TheOriginalOrthonormal avatar TheOriginalOrthonormal commented on July 25, 2024

No, it did not.

By full screen, I mean the large Now Playing view that fills the screen, toggled by the square (enlarge) and plus (collapse) icons.

In full screen view, the normal behavior is to display the album cover, sized to fit the entire cover on the screen, with a dimmer version in the background scaled to fill the screen.

In iOS Safari, the dimmer version is all that is shown. The main cover image is not displaying.

Ok, at least it's not the blur causing the issue. Do know how much html you know, but before 3.5.0 material used img tags for these. 3.5.0 uses plain div tags and sets the background-url property. This might be the issue, and if so should already be fixed in git for the next release, as I've reverted to img

TheOriginalOrthonormal avatar TheOriginalOrthonormal commented on July 25, 2024

I hope that's it! Could be that the old version of Safari (iOS 10) doesn't understand that formatting. I'll cross my fingers and wait for the next release.

TheOriginalOrthonormal avatar TheOriginalOrthonormal commented on July 25, 2024

When you said the next release, do you mean 3.5.1 or the next version after that? I only noticed the problem in the last few days. When did 3.5.0 go out? If 3.5.1 was three days ago, that seems to correspond to when I noticed the problem. I'll still cross my fingers and wait to see if 3.5.2 fixes it.

I assume the cover in the bottom bar, in desktop layout, also has a similar issue?

Are you sure this worked before? As I've looked at the code from 3.4.0 and 3.5.2 and whilst not 100% the same, there is nothing that (AFAIK) should affect this.

Also, can you try completely clearing Safari's cache and full-reload the page? It could, but probably is not, be a cache issue.

To be honest, not sure what to do. I have no such iOS available, and the issue with iOS is that there is only 1 browser engine - WebKit - which only gets updated with new iOS. Installing another browser would not help.

CDrummond avatar CDrummond commented on July 25, 2024

Ah, scratch that. I think its because your browser does not support the "min" css syntax.

CDrummond avatar CDrummond commented on July 25, 2024

OK, think I have this resolved. Please unzip the attached test version over the LMS installed version (i.e. the contents of this ZIP file need to go within the 'MaterialSkin' folder in your LMS's plugins folder), restart LMS, clear browser cache, and see if now works. (LMS might say an update of MaterialSkin is available after installing, ignore for now).

TheOriginalOrthonormal avatar TheOriginalOrthonormal commented on July 25, 2024

That worked. I get a large cover image, centered left to right, that fits within the screen, similar to what it looked like before last week. Thanks!

I'd prefer a bigger image with smaller left, right, and bottom margins, but that's minor compared with not getting the image at all.

What about this version?

lms-material-test2.zip

from lms-material.

TheOriginalOrthonormal avatar TheOriginalOrthonormal commented on July 25, 2024

That one shows the cover upper left justified and extending off screen on the right and bottom, similar to 3.5.2.

from lms-material.

TheOriginalOrthonormal avatar TheOriginalOrthonormal commented on July 25, 2024

Scratch that. The lms-material-test2 does look okay. The first time I tried it, it looks like the server updated itself to 3.5.2,
Am I looking for a difference in the margin space? It looks pretty similar to the lms-material-test.zip in terms of margins, maybe a little smaller margins.
