A project aimed at developing a way to allow public water systems to port their data to an application that, like a weather forecast application, will allow geotagged data to integrate into and inform drinking water quality and sources of water datasets.
Using Machine Learning to Identify Community Water Systems Most Vulnerable to Drought
The Water Unavailability Methodology was used to analyze water unavailability in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Watershed and determine when water right curtailments were appropriate under drought emergency curtailment and reporting regulations effective between August 2021 and August 2023.

“Interpretation of multiple time-point PFAS concentration data for a water district can provide insights into possible sources of contamination. However, thorough analyses can be complex and time-consuming. The goal of this project is to develop data analytic tools to expedite the analysis process for a water district, including statistical hypothesis testing of potential transport pathway factors, such as rainfall.
CDPH conducted biomonitoring for PFAS in selected regions in California. The relative contribution of PFAS in drinking water to body load is unknown. The goal of this project is to determine if drinking water PFAS levels are correlated measured exposure concentrations using statistical hypothesis testing.
During the PFAS Datathon we worked to identify PFAS co-contaminants, fingerprint PFAS and co-contaminant chemical mixtures, characterize local and regional variation in PFAS fingerprints, infer PFAS contamination source(s), and predict PFAS concentration using co-contaminant data.
A project aimed at integrating data to allow users to look up water supply source(s) for Public Water Systems (PWS) regulated by the Water Boards in CA.
