I think this is because you're still technically in the middle of an edit. The ExternalAnnotator which generates the files is only going to run after changes have been finished. If you have the auto complete open while you are switching files (which im imagining is the case you were in) then the generation wont trigger, but otherwise it should - can you confirm thats whats happening?

alright. I'll leave this open as like a P4 because there might be a better place to start the generation than the annotator
