To apply what I have been learning I completed a multi-phase project titled The Colors of Monet. I began using Python to scraping a database of Monet paintings and extracting a color palette from each using k-means clustering. I explored different image pre-processing techniques to improve the results. I finally took those results and created an interactive data visualization using JavaScript and D3.
