Hi and sorry for the late reply.
In order to catch these types of errors, you need to use the exc_handler
setting (documented here).
In your example, you would do something like this:
using ArgParse
function my_exc_handler(settings::ArgParseSettings, err, err_code::Int = 1)
info("Caught something")
rethrow(err)
end
function foo(args)
opts = nothing
isa(args, AbstractString) && (args=split(args))
s = ArgParseSettings(
exc_handler = my_exc_handler
)
@add_arg_table s begin
("--seed"; arg_type=Int; default=42)
end
try
opts = parse_args(args,s)
finally
info("Finally this")
end
return opts
end
here's the result:
julia> foo("--seed 10")
INFO: Finally this
Dict{AbstractString,Any} with 1 entry:
"seed" => 10
julia> foo("--feed 10")
INFO: Caught something
INFO: Finally this
ERROR: ArgParse.ArgParseError("unrecognized option --feed")
