After some (very) limited testing, Batch doesn't seem to be a good fit for the hosted version of this project.
Basically, even a "Hello World" job in Batch has very inconsistent run times from 20 to 200 seconds.
Something like AWS Elastic Beanstalk, though it has an "Always on" cost, is probably a better fit. Will give that a try next.
