I've looked into an asmjs is not very easy to write by hand at all! Also, as long we write our functions to not be megamorphic, we should get similar performance gains in modern Javascript engines such as V8 due to the looping nature of our code base.

The upcoming merge by James Tompkin should have performance improvements. I don't think we will be going the asm.js route. Closing this issue.
