Hi @andrade1379 I've just opened a pull request with the functionality to be able to do this and remove the outlines in the video stream. However, I kept this as an optional feature so you'll just need to uncomment .stopVideo() in the .end() method.

This is still occurring with the latest version of the code.

Environment:
Ubuntu 22.04
Chome
NextJS

I cloned and built the latest version of WebGazer and loaded the script. The global namespace of webgazer exhibits all the expected behavior ( begin, pause, resume). However, end only stops the tracking but doesn't release the webcam stream.

Any ideas why?

Same issue here.

Environments:

  • MX Linux 19.4, Chrome and Firefox, React 18.3.1
  • Windows 10.0.19045 Build 19045, Chrome and Firefox, React 18.3.1

Figured it out... I used the undocumented function stopVideo() right before end() ( https://github.com/brownhci/WebGazer/blob/master/src/dom_util.mjs ).

Alternately, uncomment in webgazer.end() ...

//webgazer.stopVideo(); // uncomment if you want to stop the video from streaming

...as @idaknow mentioned above, years ago :)
