Hooray! Should we close this issue?

Works for Edge and Opera too. The current version of Safari does not support the getUserMedia API. We will not use the Flash alternative.

I also noticed this recently that it does not work on Safari. Was this looked further into? If not and no one is currently working on this I am happy to look into possibly finding a solution to this @alexpapster

https://caniuse.com/stream getUserMedia is not supported in iOS Safari. But feel free to see if there is any good alternative. I believe only Flash was available when I checked it

so I believe @idaknow was referring to Safari instead of iOS, and it actually looks like Safari now supports getUserMedia according to the link that @alexpapster posted. I tried it with the latest version of Safari 11 and the camera turns on but the thumbnail doesn't show up, so I imagine we have to look into it. Sounds like a great thing to try and fix and then we can officially support it! :-)

Great, I'll have a look into whether we can integrate OSX Safari 11.
This may be related to issue #29

I have added this in the latest merged pull request - should successfully work on Safari 11. Not sure if this can be closed? Or if we keep this open for the browsers not supported yet by getUserMedia()

The recent pull of the repository onto the server means it is now working successfully on Safari!
