+1 I was also surprised I couldn't find a way to go from a vfsStreamDirectory object to a vfsStream::url string. Still getting my head around the internals; is there some technical reason it cannot be done?

Currently parents (directories) know their children (directories and files), but children don't know their parents which would be required for this. Adding this introduces a circular reference which I'm not very fond of as it increases complexity for little gain (convenience method). On the other hand, such references could be useful for introducing the concept of (sym)links, but this makes sense only if stream wrappers would support this.

Having said that, I just had an idea how the feature can be done without circular references... will look into this when I find time.

All file and directory instances now provide a path() and url() method to conveniently retrieve their path or vfsStream url.
