I made some progress today with a few minor changes to cater for the difference between PHP 4 and PHP 8.

The front end doesn't work yet but I've managed to reinstate the WordPress top menu and
fixed some of the Warnings about undefined variables.

Most of the menu items don't work since they all attempt to call get_magic_quotes_gpc() which doesn't exist in PHP 8.0
and I haven't yet written the required helper function in a common (enough) include file.

I've got the front end to display something at last.

Now to get rid of the warnings.
Simplest approach is to change the error_reporting() in b2config.php.
I'd previously added.

error_reporting( E_ALL );

Comment this out and remove the E_WARNING from the previous line to give.

error_reporting(E_ERROR | E_PARSE);
