Thank you for the detailed report! And sorry for the late reply.

I wonder if multiprocessing.set_executable could be used to workaround the issue.

No problem.
I was thinking about that, but unfortunately you can only specify a single executable, no command line arguments. Could be worked around by a little shell script, but then you have the problem of figuring out where the python executable is (you want to run it using blender's python, not the system python).

The blender's Python path can be retrieved with sys.executable.
So, if the shell script workaround works, it should be possible to generate it at load time.

Oh, so you want to generate the shell script runtime? Should be possible, just make sure to properly escape the string (shlex.quote should handle it). And of course, this is only for unices, on Windows the current solution needs to stay.
