It looks like you may be placing two modules in the same "section". Try putting it in it's own section and see if that works.

I have the code placed in different areas on the config.js file and the comic still isn't displaying properly. I have attached screen shots again.

                    module: "alert",
            },
            {
                    module: "updatenotification",
                    position: "top_bar"
            },
            {
                    module: "clock",
                    position: "top_left"
            },
            {
               module: 'DailyXKCD',
               position: 'top_left',
               config: {
                    invertColors: true,
                    title: true,
                    altText: false,
                    randomComic: true
                    }
            },
            {
                    module: "calendar",
                    header: "US Holidays",
                    position: "top_left",
                    config: {
                            calendars: [

                    }
            },
            {
               module: 'DailyXKCD',
               position: 'lower_third',
               config: {

            },

                    position: "lower_third"
            },
            {
                    module: "currentweather",

In the first picture, it looks like it's conflicting with the time and calendar module, and in the second it's conflicting with the compliments or newsfeed module. You have to put each module in its own unique position or the spacing is gonna be all messed up.
