@ajdapretnar, can you take this one? You know more about problems with add-on installation. It again seems that pip tries to compile instead of using a binary wheel.

@lawrencerowland Thank you for reporting this. Could you perhaps tell us how you installed Orange? I cannot replicate this on my machine, so I need to know the specifics. Did you have Orange installed before and you updated it recently? Did you have any Python version installed before installing Orange?
Thank you!

hi Ajda
yes of course. Though please don't worry if its just me that is having the problem.
-
I had an older version of Orange installed, and I tried to install the add-on. That didn't work.
-
So I upgraded to the latest Orange 3.18 which I downloaded from the website as a dmg. The add-on failed again. The other add-ons that I tried worked fine.
-
I had an old Python launcher installed (3.6) which I dont use for anything, so I removed this and installed 3.7.1. I went back into Orange and the add-on install failed again.
-
I uninstalled Python altogether, and tried again but this didn't help.
Let me know if you want me to try anything. I didnt try to install through Python as I am not experienced enough with that.
I was following the tutorials yesterday and learning how to use the existing widgets which are really good, so I was even more excited when I realised you have network widgets as well!
Its a super project.
Best wishes
Lawrence

@lawrencerowland Thank you for the reply. I think there must be some old Orange file in your system that cause the issue. I would suggest uninstalling Orange completely, including some old files that might be left after the removal. Then please install 3.18 again. Please make sure you are using Miniconda installation.
Let me know if the problem remains.
