You need to create an stream source.
Here is an example which gets stream of proposals and finds first one with payout > 18

const stream_src = api.basic.subscribe(
            {
                    amount: 10,
                    basis: 'stake',
                    contract_type: 'CALL',
                    proposal: 1,

                    currency: 'USD',
                    duration: 100,
