Project Status about bigchaindb

In the autumn of 2018, BigchainDB GmbH, the company which created BigchainDB, laid off most of the employees who had been working on it. The employees they didn't lay off were retasked to work on Ocean Protocol. Further development of BigchainDB software came under the umbrella of the IPDB Foundation (Interplanetary Database Foundation); see https://ipdb.io/ and https://github.com/ipdb . The IPDB folks were given control of the bigchaindb software repos on GitHub. For more information on the current state of BigchainDB software, or whatever it's called now, please contact someone with the IPDB. I haven't been involved with them for years, so don't ask me.

(BigchainDB GmbH, the company, still exists, but no longer contributes to the BigchainDB software project, or whatever it's called now.)
