Buildfarm has moved on to support only REAPI version 2 since the change you've mentioned. To use buildfarm at the newest revisions, you will need to use bazel 0.17 or later (available currently as a prerelease)

That was it!

I am sharing my setup here in case anyone runs into the same issue.

To get around the issue of running pre-releases I am building Bazel from master in docker containers.

Here is my repo:https://github.com/thelgevold/remote-builder

The repo creates 3 docker containers:

1. Container hosting the app I am building (angular app)
2. Container hosting the build farm server
3. Container hosting the build farm worker.

In all three containers I pull down Bazel master and build the dist from source.
