@velegip thanks for reporting this feature.
I have created a PR which should allow you to force the plugin to use the LocationManager instead of the FusedLocationProviderClient (even if Google Play Services are available on the device). We will release this version to pub soon (somewhere this week).

Another suggest. I made some comment on background service issue.
For real-time tracking, Firebase / Platform Specific Sqlite is an option for sync data in flutter app.
Defenses against battery optimizations thinks which is useful.
eg. Doze Mode disable over Andorid N, and custom chinese roms battery optimization intents.
If i can i will submit PR.
