I think "#include <avr/cpufunc.h>" should be delivered by the toolchain.

For compiling I recommend the Atmel AVR Toolchain for Windows (http://www.atmel.com/tools/atmelavrtoolchainforwindows.aspx - If you can't download, let me know...)

I think "cpufunc.h" is just used for "_NOP()" anyway - so your approach should be safe.

If there are multiple toolchains withOUT cpufunc.h out there - I perhaps will self-define an appropriate "nop" opcode...

in the documentation the win-avr toolchain is recommended.
It may be a good idea to place a little note about this problem and recommend the atmel toolchain.
