Moreover, it does not seem possible to install mlpost with opam in the 4.08.1 switch...

I've managed to have a compiling Debian package, with the following patches:

Thank you a lot for making everything work without any new release from us. It think all your patches have been applied at some points. But I changed a lot the makefile in order to use dune, so if I made it harder to make a debian package, I would be happy to fix that.

@backtracking @kanigsson could you test the release candidate 0.9-rc1 (in release tab)?

Compilation worked fine. I don't have any pictures to test now ... make test creates processes misc.exe that run for a very long time (>3 minutes) ... is it normal?

There is something wrong with tests indeed.

The mlpost-lablgtk (dune) package is empty.

The mlpost-lablgtk package can be removed, it was more an experiment than anything else. But still I wonder why it is empty, I will look at it.

It compiled fine with me as well.
Please note that the tarball was incorrectly named .tag.gz instead of .tar.gz.

I confirm that 'make test' takes a lot of time. And it produces many errors such as
convert examples/ps_misc7.png (exit 1)
(cd _build/default/examples && /usr/bin/convert ps_misc7.pdf ps_misc7.png)
convert: not authorized ps_misc7.pdf' @ error/constitute.c/ReadImage/412. convert: no images defined ps_misc7.png' @ error/convert.c/ConvertImageCommand/3258.

kanigsson avatar kanigsson commented on August 24, 2024

The error with convert seems to be related to stricter rights/security features on more recent distros. Though it would probably still be good to improve the script.

Now we use pdftoppm, I had to remove the generation of the html because caml2html is < 4.07 . Misc is non terminating, so I removed it. It should be looked into, but otherwise mlpost works, so it can still be released.

Hello François, nice to hear from you! I tested this and everything works on my side (though I had to install the "standalone" package for texlive).
