Python typespec generation with reasonable package length hits path limit about azure-sdk-for-python

Hi @GrahamMThomas, thanks for reaching out about this. Unfortunately given that the sdks have several nested directories this can happen with packages have slightly longer names. Have you tried enabling long paths if you're on a windows machine?

Also, please follow our latest recommendation for generating python client libraries, here are the instructions: https://github.com/Azure/azure-sdk-for-python/wiki/Dataplane-Codegen-Quick-Start. Updating to our latest tooling wont fix this particular issue but will make sure that you're using the tooling that we're actively supporting at the moment. I'll open an issue in tsp-client to investigate if there's something we can do here to reduce the occurrences of this issue.

Unfortunately it seems Windows issue for path too long : https://stackoverflow.com/questions/75372319/how-to-solve-importerror-dll-load-failed-while-importing-something-the-file. Maybe you could try to reduce number of dirs like C:/Users/gthomas/sdk-repos/sdk-repos to C:/repo/
