CentOS 8 EOL about azhpc-images

Apologies on missing this question from earlier.

As Jithin mentioned, the plan is as follows:

• The currently existing CentOS-HPC VMIs will be refreshed. No plans to add new CentOS versions given its EOL.
• There are Ubuntu-HPC versions also available.
• AlmaLinux-HPC is available.

• We're engaged with CIQ (backing Rocky) towards an Azure endorsed Rocky VMI. An HPC variant published by them can only follow after this first step. No ETA On this.

We're of course open to your feedback re: Rocky and AlamaLinux.

Unfortunately there wasn't any update.
Are there any plans to move on to another RHEL based distribution ?

az vm image list --sku="gen"" --all --output table lists an almalinux option.

I guess it is not built based on azhpc-images....

We will be pushing out a refresh for the existing CentOS HPC images, but we are not considering to add a new HPC image (eg: 8.3 HPC).

@tbugfinder - yes the Almalinux HPC image was built using the azhpc-images repro.

Does this also mean that pre-built Rocky-HPC images won't appear any soon?
