[BUG] - PythonLayerVersion gives error jsii.errors.JSIIError: spawnSync docker ENOENT about aws-emr-launch

the PythonLayerVersion of the CDK v2 spawns a container to build the bundle for the Lambda Layer. because of this, a docker runtime is required. a few potential causes of the error you're seeing are:

• the docker runtime could not be found
• the docker daemon isn't running
• the deployall.sh is being executed inside a container, which is attempting to spawn another container and is unable to
  can you confirm whether you have docker installed and functioning?

I will create a ticket to update the documentation and include docker as a prerequisite. we'll also investigate whether it's possible to fallback to the manual bundling method used in the 1.x version.

I didn't know that docker is required. Yes, confirmed that was the cause. It was successful with docker runtime installed/running.
I personally prefer the manual bundling method used in the 1.x version, if possible. That will simplify the deployment.
