I've seen this color shifting happen too, it's pretty easy to see when you're running a loopback with low denoise.

also seems to happen with higher denoise too, but the higher difference between images makes it less obvious (see the completely white background slightly change hue in this one?)

I've put it down to being an artifact of the process but maybe there's something to it.

the comparison link leads to a picture of a man in a futuristic golden-ish armor and it's not immediately obvious to me what is inpainted and where the quality is degrading

You can compare black parts of the image side by side , the one is slightly violet/magenta, thats the degraded one.
Imo somewhere green channel is not equally distributed and its a bit too low, so it gives red and blue a bit more room producing magenta , maybe theres some math in rgb compositing that needs adjustment on green so its all equal

I too have observed a darker shade when trying to inpainting on characters or objects with brighter color, but specifically only when using Masked Content Fill function. Try it on people with pale skin and you should notice the difference.

Here is what's happening to me. NSFW.

This was only after 1 generation. Especially visible on skin tones /w masking/in-painting.

Seems especially bad when 'inpaint full resolution' is used. Makes it far darker.
