If you're using the Space Pen View class, you should be able to use detach and destroy.

By the way, it looks that StatusBarView maintains internal structures like leftTiles and rightTiles.
I thought these aren't cleaned up if we just remove the item from DOM. Isn't it correct?

@omo, you can call Tile::destroy() to remove the tile. Let us know if you have any problems with this. Thanks!
