I'm particularly interested in 'defd?' it seems as if the issue is with whatever regex you guys use to look for the previous word to trigger on. I think it should be previous chunk of text that's separated with a space character. A snippet like: "@author" will not include the '@' so those tab triggers are impossible.

The wrong solution to defd is to say just use: 'defd' without the ? because that doesn't solve the underlying issue and it's going to creep up again. Like with my '@author' use case.
