How were the Legendre and Chebyshev spectra produced?
from specutils.
@nhmc It was done before I started working on this, so I have no idea. But I am guessing using the IRAF code?
from specutils.
@shaileshahuja they are just observed spectra. IRAF is not a code that produces spectra, just a code that can read certain WCSs in spectral files. If there is no spectrum that exists then make one up for now.

@wkerzendorf The file I have given has the linear multispec spectra. Its not possible to read it using IRAF code?
from specutils.
@shaileshahuja I'm not sure, what you would like me to do? Should I read that file in IRAF and write out a txt file?
from specutils.
Yes, exactly that. Like for Legendegre and Chebyshev, the files for testing
read using IRAF and written as text file. So I could use that to test the
WCS. In fact if you could tell me how to setup IRAF code on my system, that
would be better, since I can do that for other file I create as well
from specutils.
Sure - You need Linux or a virtual box running Linux.
