The solution was to add a Access-Control-Allow-Origin response header
as it was missing in the response!
for a reason i dont comprehend at the moment.

app.Use(async (context, next) =>
{
    context.Response.Headers
        .Append("Access-Control-Allow-Origin", "*");
    await next();
});
