I ended up making my own proxy middleware and setting the timeout on the httpclient to a larger timespan. There really should to be a way to set it on the out-of-the-box proxy if there isn't already.

Update: Setting the back channel message handler and setting the cancellation token to always be not cancelled fixes the problem. Is there a less hacky way to stop whatever is cancelling the connection?

    internal class ProxyMessageHandler : HttpClientHandler
    {
        protected async override Task<HttpResponseMessage> SendAsync(HttpRequestMessage request, CancellationToken cancellationToken)
        {
            return await base.SendAsync(request, new CancellationToken(false));
        }
    }

There seems to be a "WebSocketKeepAliveInterval" property but it's not in the latest NuGet package. When's the next release?
