Do you have any estimated time for this feature to be ready?

I can do it immediately after I restructure containers (which is my goal for today). This TextBox will not allow custom formatting, etc. A Rich Text field is a distant goal at this point.

Added as Textbox. It should work fine on Windows and GTK+ (though mind that wine has issues rendering multi-line edit controls); not fully working on OS X for reasons I have to investigate. No events yet; these will come in time.

It would be great if you could close the issues from the commits so we could see which commits relate to this feature. Just put "fixes #33" in your commit message, and GitHub will close the ticket and link them automatically :)

I could start doing that, though I usually add features over a number of small commits (does GitHub recognize 'updates #33' like google code does?). For this one there are still lingering issues (on Mac OS X) so I probably wouldn't have done it here anyway...

Yes, I believe it does. Any #number is linked with the appropriate issues. For closing, the documentation is here, but I don't know where the corresponding mention page is.

Thanks, but I cannot see this in the Go API - how can I use this feature? ui.NewTextbox() is not defined...

This is for an ancient version of the package; soon I will be uploading a change to the current version that reintroduces it as MultilineEntry.

I know it can be hard to say but do you imagine this will be out in 2018?
