@alrra : Interesting. Only significant change I can see at the moment is the install location of brew
on the M1...
On Apple silicon, Homebrew installs files into the /opt/homebrew/ folder, which is not part of the default shell $PATH. You'll need to configure your shell environment so Homebrew packages are found and take priority over pre-installed tools.
On a clean install, this prevents the brew
binary from being detected and, therefore, all installs using Homebrew will fail. At the moment I'm just appending the path manually. Your syntax is generally more elegant to mine. I'd be happy to submit a PR if you have an opinion on where you'd like the tweak.
